Terrorist attack on journalist in Pabna, case in police station.

A terrorist attack has taken place on Nabi Newaz, the Pabna district correspondent of the daily Swadhin Bangla and the news editor of the daily Aweer Dwip published from the district town.
On Saturday (August 29) night, a gang of thugs attacked him in the Mahendrapur area of Ward 7 of Dogachhi Union and fled. He was later rescued by locals and admitted to Pabna General Hospital. After initial treatment, he filed a written statement with the Sadar Police Station mentioning the names of the accused.
It is learned that when the accused were beaten randomly with iron rods, GI pipes and wooden batons in their hands, blood clots were formed in different parts of the body of Nabi Nawaz and wounds were healed in different parts of the body. Journalist Nabi Newaz was saved by removing his head when he tried to hit him on the head with the intention of killing him with a GI pipe.
Journalist Nabi Newaz lodged a written complaint with Pabna Sadar Police Station accusing some people.
No accused has been arrested till the writing of this report. In this incident, the journalist is fearing another terrorist attack on Nabi Nawaz.
Pabna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nasim Ahmed confirmed the incident and said the attackers would be arrested soon and brought under the law.
Pabna Press Club President ABM Fazlur Rahman, Editor Saikat Afroz Asad and other journalists working in electronics and print media in Pabna strongly condemned and protested and demanded the administration to bring the accused under the law and take disciplinary action.
