 The number of coronavirus cases is increasing in Tangail.984 people were infected in the district in August.  Another 53 people were newly infected in the district on Wednesday.With this, the total number of people affected by corona in the district stood at 2,656.  Among the new victims are 19 in Tangail Sadar, 10 in Sakhipur, 18 in Bhunapur, 6 in Ghatail, 6 in Mirzapur, 5 in Madhupur, 4 in Delduar, one each in Basail and Gopalpur.

 According to the Civil Surgeon's Office, the results of 138 samples sent to Dhaka on Tuesday came this morning.  In this 53 new people were infected with corona.  A total of 45 people have died in Corona district.

A total of 1754 people were cured and 659 people are under treatment.

Sources further said that the first corona patient was identified in the district on April 8.  Sadar upazila has the highest number of corona victims.The lowest number of corona patients was identified in Basail upazila.  In the district, 24 people were infected with corona in April, 141 in May, 448 in June, 1,026 in July and 957 in August.  So far this month, 64 people have been infected with corona.The number of victims of month-based corona is increasing.

Incidentally, various political personalities including Tangail's new Deputy Commissioner, Member of Parliament, Civil Surgeon, Mayor, Panel Mayor, Additional Superintendent of Police, UNO, Chairman of Upazila Parishad, journalists have been attacked in Corona.
