In Tangail, BCL activists attacked a human rights program of the Student Rights Council and injured five activists.
BCL activists attacked a student chain of the Student Rights Council in front of the Tangail Press Club on Tuesday afternoon, injuring five BCL activists.
Activists of the Student Rights Council alleged that after a 30-minute human chain program, 20-25 BCL leaders and activists led by district BCL joint convener Tanvirul Hasan Himel launched a surprise attack with sticks. Five workers of the organization were injured. At that moment, the human chain program became a pond. Workers of different units including Kawsar Ahmed, District Coordinator of Bangladesh Student Rights Council took part in the human chain.
Mohammad Alif, district branch coordinator of Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, alleged that a false and harassing case was filed against the central leaders of the organization, including former VP of Daksur Nurul Haque Nur, and a human chain program was organized in front of Tangail Press Club on Monday night.
Tangail District BCL joint-convener Tanvirul Islam Himel was contacted on his mobile phone and said that some very enthusiastic BNP Jamaat-e-Islami boys had been removed for insulting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
No altercation was reported at the party, and no motive has been identified for the killings.
